Spring is here! Have you been waiting for it? Do you have plans to get something accomplished? Maybe you’re going to do Spring cleaning on your house?
It’s common that many of us use this time of year to clean our homes, but I want to ask you if you have considered doing some Spring cleaning for your body? Read on to find out what I’m talking about.
Spring means time for new growth, renewal, and replenishment. That’s why lots of baby animals are born during this time of year. Hibernating animals are crawling out of their dens looking to feast and fuel their bodies with nourishment. It’s a great time to fertilize plants as leaves and flowers are emerging and need access to nutrients as well.
From ancient to modern, man has looked forward to the light of Spring. Many rituals and traditions have been kept, repeated, and practiced. People celebrate the ending of a cold and dark season, and turning towards a new and bright one.
So, the question is: have you considered renewal, replenishment, or growth for yourself? In other words, have you thought about getting rid of the old and bringing in the new within yourself?
Some things you could try this Spring could be renewal, replenishment and growth in the areas of the heart, mind, and or body.
Heart
Use this Spring to let go of the things that are weighing on your heart. Take some time to listen to it. A great place to do this is out in nature. Try finding a quiet place to sit or maybe take a hike. Listen and notice the sights and sounds of nature. Try to remember what makes your heart happy. Once something speaks to you, try to be intentional with implementing more of “it” into your life. “It” could look different for a lot of people, but the main thing is to acknowledge something that makes you happy and do more of it.
Action Step
Throughout the days of Spring, remind yourself of your intentions while lighting a white candle. After all, they represent new beginnings and purification.
Mind
Just like the cleaning of the heart is important, so is the cleaning of the mind. Negative thoughts and routines can take up a lot of mental real-estate. Negative thinking and behaviors can keep you from being your best self. They take your time and can zap your mental energy.
So this Spring, let negative thinking and behaviors go, and make room for productive and uplifting routines and thoughts.
Try decreasing screen time and incorporate more movement by getting out into nature. More movement equals better blood flow to the whole body and the brain. With more bloodflower to the brain, you get more oxygen and nutrients; priming it for new growth, renewal, and replenishment.
Action Step
Keep things positive. Try practicing gratitude. Either in journal form, speaking it silently to yourself, or out loud and putting it out into the universe.
Body
Cleansing your body can be done various ways, but making sure your body can detox should be of the utmost priority. After all, you have to have a good cleaning so something healthy and good can grow.
Take a look at the organs that perform the detox work: liver, skin, intestines, lungs, and kidneys. Support them in natural ways and with things that come from Mother Nature.
Try incorporating Ayurvedic detox practices for the elimination of toxins while simultaneously increasing energy and vitality. Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s oldest holistic systems going back more than 3,000 years.
Action Step
Add a foot or whole body detox bath to your daily or weekly routine. Incorporate some bentonite clay as it is excellent at pulling out toxins in the body.
